North Conway, NH (Aug. 1, 2023)Cranmore Mountain Resort is set to begin construction this month on the latest phase of its multi-year base area redevelopment, The Lookout. The building will sit near the new Fairbank Lodge at the base of the mountain extending out towards the Skimobile Express Quad. Residents can enjoy ski-in/ski-out access with views of Cranmore’s slopes and surrounding mountain ranges. A formal groundbreaking ceremony will take place Sept. 6.

The Lookout will feature 17 two-to-four-bedroom residences (eight of which are two-story lofted units)— ranging from about 1,170 to 2,490 square feet—as well as a 1,664 square foot state-of-the-art first aid facility for ski patrol. Completion of the new building is scheduled for 2024-25 winter season.

With Fairbank Lodge on track to open by this December, guests will enjoy brand new facilities in back-to-back winter seasons. When complete, the $85 million base area redevelopment will double the size of the area’s day-visit facilities and house 100 condominium residences to the resort.

“With Fairbank Lodge residences sold out, we have seen a tremendous amount of momentum with sales for the Lookout,” said Cranmore President and General Manager Ben Wilcox. “We are excited to break ground on the fourth phase of our base area redevelopment, which is continuing to morph the resort into one of the most progressive ski resorts in New England. These new facilities and residential condominiums help meet the needs of today’s day and overnight visitors to the resort.”

The new building’s name, The Lookout, was chosen to pay tribute to the original name of the mountain, Lookout Mountain. The resort has come a long way since being renamed Cranmore Mountain in 1938. What was once an under-explored hiking area is now a premier skiing destination of the Northeast.

Atlantic Construction Group is the general contractor for the project. The New England-based company was also contracted for the Kearsarge Brook II and is currently working on Fairbank Lodge. Archetype of Portland, Maine, is the architect and HEB Engineers of North Conway are the civil engineers of record.

Eleven of the 17 new condominiums are already under contract. Coldwell Banker Lifestyles is the official real estate broker for The Lookout. For more information regarding The Lookout or the rest of Cranmore’s real estate portfolio, visit www.cranmore realestate.com.
